"Bald Eagles converge on the southern Willamette Valley in never-before-seen numbers. According to a retired U.S. Fish and Wildlife Refuge Manager, Jeff Fleisher, this convocation of eagles didn't exist ten years ago. He says that there ahs been a wholesale increase; "a doubling and then tripling of bald eagles in the southern end of the Willamette Valley." He says that the typical high count for a day in winter was 50, but that there were recently 217 in one day. They attribute the increase to the growing sheep population in the valley, but I'm wondering if there's more to it than that.........💚
